It has started Holder stated yesterday the country needs to reimplement the ban to help Mexico because of their border problems. These SOB's will use any excuse to restrict firearms.

This is hopefully something we can hold off if we can get Republicans in control of the house and senate in 2010. However Obama is going to start on this right away in hopes of getting it through while they control everything. The Dems seem to be doing their best to get themselves thrown out in 2010. Get out and vote and educate everyone you meet, that even if they don't value the 2nd amendment, these guys are like Carter on steroids, they will wreck the economy and the country. He was elected on fixing the economy. Yeah, right, that's what Marxists do, fix economies.

With the Democrates in Control, all we can do is prepare for this, as it IS GOING TO HAPPEN..There is nothing we can do to stop this, or any other agenda that the liberal democrates have been waiting to push down our throats. With Nancy and Frank in charge, there is no telling what we as gun owners will suffer. Yes, I'm a little sore about the whole subject...My only hope is that all those that voted for and put the current adminstration in place gets as much of an reamering as we as gun owners are about to recieve...
I can only wonder how Mr. Cooper at Copper Rifle, and all the guns owners that supported Obama feel now that the dog is about to bite the hands that feed him...

It will be a long 4 years for us. What gets me is the gun owners who state we do not need AR-15's and such. Well what happens when we do not have them? I will tell you the anti-gun side will come after their sniper rifles. My unkle is one of these guys he also states that he will be dead before they take bolt action rifles. I told him when it is time to turn them in I will stand up in court and to the cops and tell them he has a AR that he never turned in.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi tossed cold water on the prospect of reinstating the assault weapons ban, highlighting Democrats’ reluctance to take on gun issues.
Attorney General Eric Holder raised the prospect Wednesday that the administration would push to bring back the ban. But Pelosi,D-Calif.) indicated on Thursday that he never talked to her. The Speaker gave a flat “no†when asked if she had talked to administration officials about the ban.
“On that score, I think we need to enforce the laws we have right now,†Pelosi said at her weekly news conference. “I think it's clear the Bush administration didn’t do that.â€
Outside of the dig at the recent Republican president, that phrase is the stock line of those who don’t want to pass new gun control laws, such as the National Rifle Association.
The White House declined to comment on Holder's remarks, referring reporters to the Department of Justice. The DoJ did not respond to The Hill's request for comment.
For the time being, the Democrats have a clear majority and appear to want to keep it that way. Kind of reminds me of the Republicans, who at one time were a clear majority yet did not want to touch the abortion issue. Who knows what could happen in time though.

I do not believe Holder raised the issue without being instructed to do so by his 'Master'. It seems like an attempt to test the waters without the 'Mesiah' getting his feet wet. Holder was merely the chosen one: others in this administration will follow, in lock step. 'Eternal vigilance is the price of freedom'. NRA Life, since 1965 & recent Endowment.
JRS: Don't get me wrong: I agree with much of what you say. I remember the 'black helicopters', U.N. poised to take control of the USA, Russian troops secretly training in North Central PA, UN flag flying over Camp Polk, La., etc. etc. But, if you told the folks from California several years ago that the State government would prohibit their legal ownership of AR-15 rifles, the response may have been ' That will never happen'. I've learned over the years, many now), that it is difficult to trust any politician, regardless of what party they belong to. Guess that's why I'm registered as 'No party affiliation'.

I diagree with JRS regarding California's right 'via their Constitution' to outlaw any firearms....period. As a member state of the Union they are subserviant to and subject to the Bill of Rights which protects every citizen in the Nation. No state can legally disregard these protections and become a law unto themselves.
Article VI, U.S. Constitution
This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, anything in the Constitution or laws of any State to the contrary notwithstanding.
In addition, the 14th Amendment has been interpreted as extending the Bill of Rights to all states.
In Washington state, our constitution is even clearer than the U.S. Constitution:

You have a pattern I have seen in other threads - you hide and cower. Don't quote case law or state or even federal. ALL people have a right to self defense. No govt can usurp that right,remember *people* have rights, rights are not granted by govt). You chose to accept unlawful and immoral acts and site case law to make yourself feel better. Just because the govt has might does make their actions right. I bet you would glady hand over my FALs, M1s, and AR15 if Peolsi lied to your face and told you she would not take your BR rifle. This is an all or nothing battle and you need to pick a side.
