Hogs, Smoke and Wind

Sounds like a new rock group. No - it the conditions here in eastern PA today. Hay is cut, beans are at prime height, and wind is under 10 mph - but we have another "red" alert for smoke. It's like being in a bar in the 70's with all the cigarette smoke. We are probably all going to get lung cancer eventually if this continues. :( I guess it would take the guesswork out of dying. Just excuse me, I am in an ornery mood today, had an expensive car repair.

Going "ground hogging" anyway. Leaving at 3 pm for my 15th safari of the 2023 campaign. :):):) With my diminishing skills, the hogs are probably safe beyond 200 yards. :( Besides, I might not be able to see them beyond that through the haze of smoke. :(

South central PA here. Smoke this morning was the worst yet that I've noticed since it has all started a few weeks back.I guess now I finally realize how my neighbors feel every weekend, because i'm usually smoking something on my wood/coal side burner BBQ HAHAHAHA To my defense, at least my smoke smells good! :)

P.S Good luck on the safari!

I'm in E TN, and we have the "air quality alerts" going on down here as well. I went to the range today, and you could see the sun through the "heavy air" but the sunlight was heavily filtered due to the smoke. NO winds today either, it was almost dead calm at the range and at home. I was messing around with my windflags for RFBR out in the yard after I got home. The tails were curling up under the vane, and just spinning in slow motion for the most part.

We have had days, smoke thick enough looks like fog. Can't see blue skies, yellow hue to everything. Forecast for 80', temp would 8-10 degrees cooler. Can smell the smoke, if I would exercise(walk, bike or jog with the dog) throat would be scratching and light cough. Have a 5k on the 4th, hope we have a clear day.

When the smoke was at its worse here for 2 days, the sky was reddish/orange and the moon appeared to be completely orange. You could smell smoke everywhere. The two guys that were detailing my Tahoe both felt sick and left early, one had asthma. I may be an overly cautious guy but I wore an N95 on both days while outside and I run a Heppa filter in the house 24/7.

My doctor says, "You only get one shot at protecting your health. Don't F___ it up".
