Hog Hunts in MO or AR

Hi everyone. I am looking for a place to hunt pigs in either Missouri or Arkansas. I'm in Eastern Nebraska so those two states would be closest.

Does anyone have any insight on places to go or which guides or services to use?

It will be 4-6 guys and we aren't as concerned about amenities as we are harvesting game. We are looking to do a 2 or 3 day hunt, probably over a long weekend.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Tx has more opportunities to pay for hog hunts. Here in arkansas tons of people hog hunt a bunch but i cant think of a single one that runs a formal guide service.

Missouri is not your hog hunting state. Our Conservation Dept is rightly trying to eliminate hogs everywhere any show up. I've lived and hunted in the state all my life (I'm 54 years old) and I've never seen a wild hog here and hope I never do. A co-worker took his son on a guided hog hunt in Oklahoma. You might try that state.

Just a heads up on "guides", the ones who make up a magnetic sign, stick it on their pickups and now they're a hog "guide". Ask for MULTIPLE references, photos, and hunting accounts before handing over your hard earned money. A buddy just got back from a hunt in Florida and in three days never saw a hog. From what I've seen and heard, there are more amateurs out there than professionals and all they're interested in is making a quick buck. Caveat Emptor.

most of the hogs here in MO are in the southeast part of the state. have some freinds that have killed a bunch in traps not far from my house and i have seen sign of them on my farm. lots of public hunting here this part of state but not sure u would find any guides

I'm in the Arkansas Ozarks. While I hear people state that the forest is full of wild pigs, I've yet to see one. But the pigs are out there (wild pork is truly delicious). Locals HATE having wild hogs on their property and shoot on sight, so I wouldn't say the pig population is high enough to make a trip from Nebraska. As already suggested, I'd look into a trip to Texas.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. From what I hear, I would have thought there are many more hogs than what you guys say. I'll take a look into the Texas area and see what I find.

Central to south arkansas is loaded with hogs- you heard right. I killed 16 in one morning last year. We just dont have any guide services. We have tons of the good ole boys. They take friends and take beer in payment. They dont guide for money but hunt every day almost. That type of hunting is hard to understand if youre not from around here.

Dusty,
That looks a lot like the party we held after the AR state shoot last year!! Or at least what
I remember of it!!
Seriously though, I have seen wild hogs along side of I-30 on the way to Texarkana and we
have them in Hempstead Cty. but I have never seen any guide services offered like I have seen
in E. Texas.

I have been hunting multiple times in Houston County, Missouri, just south of Fort Leonardwood. I have killed three hogs on four separate trips there. Smallest being 40lbs and largest being 175lbs. My guide was an old gentlemen who was very kind and knowledgeable. He lets you do three hunts on the land he has. You can use dogs, hunt from a blind, or spot and stalk. The largest group I saw when I shot the 175er was roughly 50 or so pigs. Great hunting. Also, that photo of the dead hog with a beer in its mouth is pretty disrespectful...I would stay clear of that guide.

OP PM for details. I am no longer in the area...I had to move. The guide does it for fun and charges a 100 bucks per day (8-12 hrs depending on how much energy you have).
