Hodgden Superperformance powder

Anybody have a chance to try Hodgden Superperformance powder? Im wondering if it would work in place of varget in some cals 6BR? 6.5x47? 243?

I spoke with a engineer from Hogdon at the SHOT show. He told me that it ONLY showed promise with the powders listed on the label of the canister. It gave no added benefit to any other calibers. Now obviously they can't try every cartridge out there but they tried all the ones in their loading manual. Superformance powder is a blend. It is NOT the same in every type of loaded ammo. They just found this particular blend helped with enough cases that they decided to offer it.

Hope this helps.

tinman,

You might try taking a look at Hodgdon's online loading center. It is pretty slick. I looked at 6BR and there are some loads for Superformance.
Hornady has 11 different blends of powder they use in their Superformance ammunition. Hodgdon has chosen to produce one of those blends. This blend of powder can not be used to replicate all loads of all Hornady Superformance ammunition. Your best bet is to call Hodgdon or look on their reloading center. They will tell you which powder will work best in these loads.
