History -- When America Stole a U-Boat

30 years later I served on the fleet tug Abnaki ATF 96 if the documents I saw were correct Abnaki towed that German sub. The documents I saw were a commendation Mt veterinarians dad received for serving on that task force. A small world indeed.

The story of U-505 has been well documented. It was not stolen as this Ahole keeps blabbing about. It was captured as a prize of war by Capt. Daniel V. Gallery. These Gen Z Aholes that get on Youtube and profess to know something about history are just showing their stupidity! And the real problem is, they are allowed to continue breeding!

Big dramatic headline Steal, as you point out that is totally WRONG. He talks to fast way ahead of his brain power to absorb the facts. It was war and the sub was captured and a fine job they did.

His point is to exemplify the bravery of "The Greatest Generation" in terms kids these days can understand. The younger generations desperately need this.
This, exactly. I think this young man does a great job of translating history for the younger crowd. I've gotten a couple of the "kids" at work watching his videos, and they seem to be pretty amazed at the things we did,
with as little technology available at the time.

I agree, and I very much enjoyed the video, I had never heard that story. That said, there were a few things that I would bet got a little misrepresented, the way he explained the photogapher and the reasons there was a photographer there, the way the made it sound like the commanding officer took it upon himself to decide to capture it just for the sake of being badass are the biggest two to me.
One thing the video did not discuss is just exactly how much information about the sub did the guys on the boarding crew have? I am going to try to find a more historical, less dramatic story about that. Here we go down the rabbit hole!
