High pressure with 107's.....

I believe the 107 has a longer bearing surface, so that would make more pressure. They could also be fatter which would create more pressure and maybe too tight in the neck. I never run .001 clearence because it has proven no more accurate then .003. If the Bullet can't be released cleanly, accuracy can suffer. All it takes with .001 clearance is brass flow, a little carbon or necks not turned good enough to start with and pressures can rise to dangerous levels.

WHEN YOU REPLACE A COMPONENT YOU SHOULD START LOW AND WORK UP. Matt
You're right...Thanks

According to my pressure trace, a jammed bullet can, and often does, raise pressure by 10,000psi or more. With a single change in bullet PROFILE, such as experienced by me as a test, I went from Nosler 200gr Accubonds to Swift 200gr Scirroco without changing the loads, I worked from 3% below with both.
The Swift bullet ran 15,000psi higher pressure until I reached the older max load for the Accubond, the pressure trace read 68,906psi, the Accubond read 58,884psi. The next 1gr increase was too high for the Accubond, shudder to think what it would have been for the Scirroco.
If you change ANY component, COAL or anything else, expect DIFFERENT pressures.
Hammering a case out is just shy of a burst case head, ask me how I know.

Cheers.

Yes, + another on that. Far too small a clearance. Without looking it up, that sounds like the chamber designed for no-turn with the older thinner neck 'gold box' Lapua being used with current thicker-neck 'blue box' stuff.
Yes it sounds that way but in this case i ordered the reamer from Dave Kiff back when he had time to talk and did meticulously turn my necks in order to obtain the .001" desired.
Thanks for your input

Kinda been there too by mistake....someones watching over Us.....Thanks

+1 on what Matt said. what free bore do you have? .001 per side is a minimum and you sure better know what the pressure ring is……. jim
Without going and looking I don't remember the FB of that reamer and I always consider the diameter at the pressure ring of all my bullets. .001" on sides is tight if you are uncomfortable with it there or less. .0005" has been done often with great care I agree.
Thanks
