***HIGH POWER MATCHES: Sept 10, 2022***
CAGC will host it's 1st monthly Service Rifle match on 09/10/22.
Match will be open to all members & non members, so bring a friend!
A few notes to those who have never participated in this type of match:
There will be two divisions, Service Rifle & Modern Military. Service rifles must be "as issued".
Modern Military division will allow the addition of the optics of your choice, Scopes are limited to 7X.
Detailed course of fire is provided below.
YOU WILL NEED:
Appropriate rifle & 84 rounds of ammo.
Minimum 2 magazines
Eye & ear protection.
An ECI (empty chamber indicator) Limited quantities will be available for sale $2
YOU WILL WANT:
A sling (no bipods or rear bags allowed)
A shooting mat, piece of carpet or blanket for prone position off concrete.
A spotting scope if you have one, or decent binoculars.
A ball style hat to beat the sun and deflect brass casings.
Match will begin at 0900. Registration will open at 0800.
Meeting at 08:45. Mandatory attendance. Please be on time.
This will be an NRA "Approved" Match.
Any military issued rifle will be eligible to enter, with the most common being the AR15.
M1A & Garands are welcome. All NRA Service rifle rules will apply. This means no bipods or rear bag rests.
Sling support may be used except in off hand position.
Official NRA "reduced" targets will be used at 100 yards to simulate 200, 300 & 600 yards. Course of fire will be 80 rounds total as follows:
Slow Standing (SR1) 2 sighting shots + 20 for score in 22 minutes
Rapid sitting (SR21) 20 shots (2 series of 10 [2+8]) in 80 seconds each RELOAD REQUIRED
Rapid prone (SR21) 20 shots (2 series of 10 [2+8]) in 80 seconds each RELOAD REQUIRED
Slow prone (MR31) 2 sighting shots + 20 for score in 22 minutes
This match will be open to all shooters. All safety & range rules will apply.
Match entry fee will be $15 per shooter, $10 each additional entry (time
and space permitting)
Anyone interested in assisting match set up Friday evening (6pm) & early Saturday (7am), please advise me.
Doing so will also reduce your entry fee by $5.
It's a lot of work to set up and I could really use the help.
Also, PLEASE e-mail me to pre register. Not 100% required, but this would greatly ease
the workload Saturday AM. Pre registering will give you an earlier start time as registration is a first come, first serve basis.
