High, Medium, and Low variations between Manufacturers

Generally, is a low ring from one mfg, going to be close to what other mfg's call low?

Specifically, I am sending back a set of Monstrum low rings that did not align, but had plenty of clearance height wise. Would a set of Warne low rings still have the clearance?

Not necessarily. Most will tell you a height dimension from the base to the bottom of the ring some it is base to middle of the scope. Different manufacturers will vary by quite a bit on the lift and bell clearance you will get from one size ring or another. Google is your friend.

I did some Googling and measuring. The low Warne's will work. They actually will get the scope closer to the bore. Win. win win!

Well, I mounted the Warne rings and sighted it in.

It had 1" of travel left. The Montstums were all the way at the end of adjustment.
The better rings only made it 1" better.

I know the rail is good on the rifle, it has had other scopes on it and they went right down the middle.

I publicly apologize for the bad things I said about the Chinese workers that made the Monstrum rings.

I am reaching out to the scope manufacturer.
