High BC Hunting Bullets

Berger Bullets Releases (3) New Elite Hunter Bullets

Elite-Hunter-Bullet-Chart-Blog.jpg

The Elite Hunter Bullets provide serious reloaders and outdoor enthusiasts with the highest ballistic performance on today's market. These unequaled bullets share the same hybrid profile as our award-winning, Hybrid Target bullets which were used by 2016 U.S. F-Class Nationals competitors who swept in all classifications. This Berger-pioneered design combines the best of tangent and secant ogive features, resulting in unmat...ched downrange performance with less sensitivity to seating depth.

Elite Hunters are not limited to SAAMI standards. The much longer bullet nose produces ballistic coefficients (BC's) that rival all competitors' match-quality target bullets! The Elite Hunter bullets are ideal for use with factory rifles, extended magazine applications or single-feed custom-built platforms.

Berger Bullets President Eric Stecker states, “Our customers first inspired us to marry our industry-leading hybrid target design with a long-range hunting bullet. Their demands for a game-changing product that is easy to load and shoot, drops an animal in its tracks, and has no ballistic equal were answered when we first introduced our Elite Hunter. Today, we’ve added three new hybrid Elite Hunter offerings, now the most emulated bullet design in the industry for both hunting and target applications, exemplifying its success.”

New Elite Hunter Series offerings are as follows; 6.5mm 140gr, 7mm 175gr, and 30 cal 180gr. Available now through your favorite Berger Bullets retail outlet. 93.00 for a box of 100 .338 250 gr bullets. That is insanity. I bet those will be flying off the shelves.:eek:o_O

Paul

$93 is suggested retail price. And the 338 250gr EH isnt actually a new release. I bought my first few boxes of 338 250gr Elite Hunters a few years ago for $72 each. Think they're a little higher now, but still usually below $80 per 100 on the shelf if you can find them.

Compare that price to 338 250gr Nosler or Swift bullets or even worse, Barnes, and it's not that expensive.

Either way, the Berger trajectory and terminal performance on game is worth every penny to me.

These aren't intended to be target bullets where competition shooters by them by the 10K. They are made for hunting rifles that dont get a ton of rounds run through them. I have about 200 left out of the 300 bullets I bought and it's 3 years later. Now that the barrel is well broke and all long range testing has been done, those last 200 bullets may last me another 7-8+ years.

I am going to try the 175s in a 28 Nosler. Cost can be relative to where and what you are hunting. If you're spending $50,000 for an African safari or a sheep hunt in Tajikistan, ten dollars a round isn't a concern.
On a related note, I use a crossbow for deer. Twelve bucks for a bolt, ten for a broadhead and ten for a luminock, thirty two bucks for one shot. I lost two this year on pass throughs :( but that won't stop me from pulling the trigger again. :D

Ya I agree with that to a certain extent. I lose alot of arrows thru either damage or from game w/broadhead arrows. They are not cheap. I also shoot alot and go thru alot of ammunition but reloading helps alot to reduce cost. Luckily most of the Amax ammo I use tends to group very close to my berger of same weight. Kinda versatile in a way. In short, the arrows or ammo are minor items in the long run when exchanged for the pleasure I get from it. There aren't many sports of activities that are inexpensive. Shooting isn't on the top of the list once the guns are in place. For me it's a fine line between obsession and hobby. Something I'll do till my last breath(god willing).

Totally agree 284winner, I always though it was funny how when we buy a vehicle we negotiate in the 500 dollar increments, but I will drive the extra mile cuz my beloved Copenhagen is 20 cents cheaper on the othe eND of town....what if i haggled wit the car sales man abut 20 cents??!! I Bitch about the price of gas and go spend 23 bucks on a case of beer. Wtf??
You gotta have a hobby...., bullets, shells and arrows are cheap compared to the money some meth addict spends to feed an addiction.

Just switchd over to the 95gr Classic Hunter/Hybrid in my 6SLR this weekend. First 3 shots at 109y to check speed went into a little over one 6mm hole, think ill be using them for a bit
