Anyone using this? Or is it more snake oil?

I have some HBN on hand, was thinking of coating some 105 Scenars, but dont want to do it if it will not play out positively with barrel life, and hopefully let me run the bullet a little faster.

I'll be using it in the new barrel. My goal is to not have to clean between relays in VFS, though.

Great stuff. I've been using it too since learning Tubb switched from moly.

Whole process is easier, no black dust coating everything. Don't need the wax step either.

Whether it improves barrel life or extends cleaning intervals is up for grabs. I shoot mostly prone w/sling & clean after 150-200 rounds, less often than some, more often than others.

I believe it's more "bore-friendly" as there's no sulfur involved in the compound, as with moly or DANZAC. Sulfur and bores just don't go well together when there's any humidity to create acid.

Heck, mon, 200 rounds would be a whole VFS match: warm up, 100 and 200 plus copious sighters. If I can get half that, I'll be proud. Just don't want to be cleaning every 5-target relay or so.

Ive gone to the HBN 115 Dtacs myself. I lost about 65fps, but the bore seems to be easier to clean. I also think it may be extending my barrel life also. As the throat on my .243Ai has only grown .010" in 500 rounds. I know my other barrel shooting bare bullets, you could see the edges of the lands wearing away.

Try it and see what you think.
