Help with long range build

I've been thinking of getting my feet wet in long range BR for quite awhile and have come up with a plan I'd like some experienced input on.I'm thinking 243AI on a Rem xr 100 with Broughton 8t fluted barrel in McMillan MBR.My thoughts are that I could use this to sample both 600 & 1000 yd competition along with some egg shoots and groundhog shoots.I also know this isn't the optimum rig for either type of competition but should allow me to get in the game.If I find neither type appeals to me,then it would still make a nice live varmint set-up.Also as part of this grand scheme I've got a SS Rem 700 in 243Win I would have opened to AI with the same reamer to use for a fire-form rifle and called varmints.I am also thinking of no-turn neck reamer.Tell me the flaws in this idea, all opinions appreciated.

The Broughton 1:8" twist barrels are not always a true 1:8" twist, and the ones I have are more in the 8.25" to 8.5" twist. This does not make a difference if you are going to shoot bullets no more than 108 gr., but if you are going to shoot any 115's you need a barrel that is a true 1:8" twist or faster. The Broughton 1:8" twist barrels I have will not stabilize 115's, but the 1:8" twist Kostyshyn and Hart barrels I have will.

When I think of 1000 yard shooting, especially with something like a 243 Improved, I invision possibly using buillets like the 115's. But to shoot such bullets you need a longer throat which may make it so you rule out the shorter varmint bullets. Always a balancing act.
