Help with AMP settings for Alpha 6 Dasher and BRA

R.Morehouse

Good Morning
I just picked up a 1st gen AMP that is AZTEC compatible. I really don't feel like popping for AZTEC and am hoping one of our members sent some of the above mentioned brass in for a code. Or has tried the Alpha with one of the AMP listed Lapua brass codes with some level of success?
I had a 1st gen AMP before and wrongly let it go, so I AM familiar with the machine.......Thanks

Regards
Rick

Best to get the update- do your own analysis on your own lots of brass-

That’s what’s for….
Yes......I am prying open my wallet, preparing to take the plunge. The AMP should be here in a week or so, then I guess it will be time to cook off some brass.
Thank You for your input.........

Best Regards
Rick

I believe they have a chart on the amp site. You can't use the aztec codes with the amp 1.
Ya might purchase the update. Life would be easier.

I have AMP model #1 and buying the AZTEC code for it was definitely worth doing as previously you had to send 6 cases to NZ and wait for a reply to tell you what setting to use for your lot of brass… You did NOT get your brass back!
The AZTEC code utilises one case and away you go with no wait and 5 cases to the good.
Their site says 6mm Dasher setting for Lapua brass is 53, Norma head stamp 66, this if for unturned necks. 6BRAI is 65 for Lapua brass

Do you have it for Alpha brass? the web page dose not show any Alpha

That is with factory installed Aztec on my AMP V2. Ran and Analyzed three pieces of new Alpha brass. All 3 came back with 144.
All my Aztec codes start with zero and I am wondering if your 144 should be shown as 0144? That would be close to my setting for 0155 I have for some Lapua brass formed to 6BRA.
As for getting a standard setting # off the AMP site, to mikegaiz, I can tell you that most of those settings go back years now, long before there was any Alpha brass out there.
He should contact AMP directly via email and ask if there has been any update but I seem to recall that someone here said that they were no longer accepting cases to be analysed.
His only real option going forward is to buy the Aztec code update and carry on…

Yes, 0144 is correct
