help with 90gr pills 6x47lap

Hi guys
have been following your site form Aus
yous have been helpful for most of my reloading problems thou reading the forums
but now i need some help
i have just built a 6x47lap on a kimber 84M varminter with a bargara 1in10 26in stainless barrel
i run 70gr nosler B/T 39.8 of varget .020 of lands @3560fps they group very well . well under 1/2 inch at 100mts very happy with them
but my problem is the 90gr nosler B/T i cannot get them to group well ???????? well over a inch
what em i doing wrong ????
i have tried 39.5 - 40.0 - 40.5 - 41.0 of H4350 at .005 - .010 - .020 - .030 of the lands
the best group i could get was just over a inch with 40.7 H4350 .020 of the lands

same with vihtavuori N550 i have tried 39.5 - 40.0 - 40.5 - 41.0 the groups are even worse the H4350 ??????

should i be trying more of H4350 and N550 say 42.0 - 42.5 ?
or be trying faster powder ? like varget RL15 RL17 ????

any help would be great thanks

To check that it is a 1in10 twist barrel wit a cleaning rod and patch
The rod should turn once for every 10inches ?? Is that right ?

Guys I have checked the twist
And yes it is a 1in10
The cleaning rod turned once for every 10inches

So can I ask what powder and loads are you guys running with your 90gr bullet ?
And what powder seems to work best
H4350 N550 RL15 and 15
Any advice would be greatful
Thanks

From my experience, the R-15 would be at least worth a try with your set up and the 90gr bullets. :) WD

Ok guys
I have tried RL 15 with my 87 vmax
Playing with different loads and seating depth
.010 of the lands and 39.2 of RL 15
I'm getting around a inch grouping
That seem the be the best so fare
I thought that they might be tighter
Then that
I also have a bottle of N540
Has anybody tried the N540 with the
87s ? If so what's it like ?
What is a good starting load ?

I think your twist is a bit slow for the 90's. The Nosler BT is a long bullet. Keep in mind that you are stabilizing length not weight. I use the same bullet in my 6X47 Improved 40 and my groups are in the 2's, it's an 8 twist. Since you're getting good groups with the lighter bullets, I'm convinced the issue is twist. With that said, try loads in the upper pressure limits of your cartridge and see if that helps.
