Help the Newb

A lot of you guys were kind enough to help me decide between a myriad of scope bases and gave me some information on how to bed a scope base. So i've got the receiver oiled up, blue loctite in the thread holes, jb weld on the bottom of the scope base, I tightened the middle two screws and loosely tightened the outers, but my front screw wont go in all the way. That is the forward most screw seems to stop several millimeters before the others. Is the front hole more shallow than the others? all the screws provided with this base from US Optics are of the same length, should the front one be shorter perhaps?

Thanks again all

You probably will need to shorten the screw. This is pretty common.

Yeah about 20 minutes after the post it hit me....screws too long...shorten it...duh...5 minutes on the grinding wheel and i was good to shoot. I would of retracted the thread, but it was too late. thanks anyways though
