Help!! Rem 700 SPS having to force bolt back after each shot.

Guys,
I have a new Rem 700 SPS 300 Win Mag that has had exactly 5 rounds down the pipe. After each shot the bolt has to be forced open to get the casing out. The last shot #5 we had to get something from the open end of the barrel to tap down and help it out. We tried two different types of ammunition hoping we got a bad batch but had the same results with each. I have contacted Remington about possible warranty issues. What could be causing the problem and is it something that can be fixed on my end or do I have to send it to Remington? Any advise would be great.
Thanks

I have the same gun and it did the same thing to me. I sent it back and when it got back I fired 10 new factory shells in it and it then did same thing. I took a 12 gauge bore mop and put some fine steel wool on it and spun it in rifle chamber. have now shot 5 boxes of factory ammo in it plus I am now reloading for it. end of problem!

It ain't the finish......

Remington totally screwed the pooch in regards to handle placement and bolt timing.....

I have fixed more extraction problems than I can count by polishing chambers on factory rifles. There's a good chance that the primary extraction is little to non existant too. But working the chamber over would be the first place to start.

It is so sad that quality at Remington has gotten to this level of I don't give a darn attitude. Remington ought to fix their problems instead of deflecting them on to the buyer. I have had problems with rugers and they fix them with no questions asked. I wish the manufacturers would tke note that law suits cost horrid amounts of money. Look at what their trigger disaster cost them by cheaping out and ignoring that problem.

My last one was a brand new S/S RR prefix gun I stripped to the action to build a custom on. From the very first round it would not extract without standing up and beating on the bolt handle to get them out of the chamber with starting loads. The handle was so far back, it didn't come close to engaging the ramp on the action.

I sent the bolt to Accu-Tig to relocate the handle properly and tig weld it back on. During the wait, I "borrowed" the bolt from another older "S" series factory action to do load work, and that bolt extracted and ejected just fine.

I ordered one in left hand. Did an initial cleaning, went to the range, and had nothing but problems getting spent cases out after firing. Also, the cleaning patches were so blue, they looked purple from copper fouling after 3 shots. (during a break in period) Also, it wouldn't shoot an 8" group at 100 yds.

Sent it back to Remington, they replaced the barrel, test fired it. No problems at all now. Tech said he had no idea how that rifle left the factory because the chamber and barrel was so rough.

Guess mine was made when the tooling had dulled to a point where it couldn't cut anymore.

Doesn't matter which company you choose, they all have production issues from time to time.

chamber is too tight in this rifle.
