Sorry if this is the wrong place but I didn't know where to post this.
I have a bit of a dilema and was hoping some of you have some recommendations on how to do this right.
I bought a new Zeiss V4 6-24x50 for my Rem 700 300 Win Mag. I also ordered Hawkins 25moa LR Hybrid rings with it.
The scope will not properly sit in the rings as the scope is too narrow for the action with these rings. As you can see in the pictures it wont sit down in the front ring due to the taper increase for the obj lens. I don't like how far back the scope sits either.
I was told to change rings/go to a rail or buy a new scope.
As it is the scope seems too small for the rifle. It's also sitting higher off the barrel than I would like with the .6 rings.
If I go with a 20moa rail and the lowest rings it will make the scope sit higher off the barrel than it is already.
Is there any way to get the scope to sit lower on the rifle and are there any options for rings with or without 20 moa rail?
any ideas?
