Help needed... borescope results

How does it shoot? Most folks have all kinds of abnormalities in their barrels and never know it unless they buy a boor scope. They go blissfully through their shooting experience simply enjoying the experience.

When lapping a barrel I use Wheeler lapping compound.

Round patches like these with a special Jag to hold them.

The product I use is VFG. Brownells has everything you need. Make sure you use Bore Shine along with the compound. Put the compound on the pellets and then coat with Bore shine. Add more of both as needed. It is tedious and takes a lot of strokes but it works.

Next time you want a photo use the single frame feature of the software that you downloaded. It will be clear as a bell. Also make sure the mirror is clean. Use a Q-Tip with alcohol to wipe it with.

Maybe the borescope should not have ben used. You claim it is a "truck gun", used and put way. Any product containing ammonia should not be used on a stainless barrel. Perhaps the over zealous use of JB caused the damage. If it shoots to standard, is a field gun and not a serious target rifle why the worry? Cortina recommends CLR for serious carbon fouling, has a video about it. I hope your concerns don't lead to a cure that is worse than the problem.

The bore scope was used to address the problem I had. The problem was a carbon build up.
once all the carbon had been removed I was left with the marks that I have pictured - I should have taken pictures after the JB’n session.
Yeah it’s a truck gun as in it leaves the cabinet into the pickup, from the truck to the bonnet or the ground fires a shot at long range crows etc then back to the truck.

long range crows 600yard and beyond need a gun capable of .3moa or better to shoot consistently, and then there is the issue of wind.
The gun does shoot but it’s one of those that’s stuck in my head, I’d like to know exactly what the marks/deposits are.
Would the gun shoot better if they weren’t there? Most likely.
Thanks for your input. Your maybe right in regards of creating a problem where there perhaps isn’t one

Take the patch off the brush, and directly brush with JB. Load up the brush with JB. Try in one spot, check progress frequently with your borescope.
