Help me identify this rifle please.

I bought this through an online auction as ".22 european target rifle". It is in 22-250 but there is no maker information, only "Made in England" and "BNP" with a crown above it. The back of the bolt is rather unique, the small red dot on the top of the butt end of the bolt is a "cocked" indicator. The barrel is a straight taper from 1 3/8" at the action to 3/4" at the muzzle and 25 3/4" long, stainless, 1:14 twist. The stock is apparently a cast plastic of some sort where the action was part of the mold. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll be shooting it with some factory ammo and then determine if it is worth gearing up to reload, since it is my first 22-250.

Bsa by husqvarna, Good action, just a bit outdated. Hope it shoots!

The 'BNP' is the Birmingham Nitro Proof mark.,It was built by The Firearms Co. Ltd. of Bridgwater, England. I have an Alpine Supreme, 7mm mag on a mauser action, that was built by them and imported by A. D. Heller Inc, of Baldwin NY (Long Island) .in the 1960's. The metal to wood fit on mine is superb! Hope this helps.
