Help loosening locking ring Sightron Sii

I just received my first scope with a traditional locking ocular eye piece. I have zero experience with it. How on earth do you loosen the locking ring on this type without pliers?

Try holding the ring and moving the eyepiece. Maybe a piece of rubber gripper like you use to open jars, on it. Matt

Bingo, that is the trick. turned left, counter clock to loosen the eye piece and no pliers necessary. Thank you very much Matt.
