HELP....I WANT TO LOOK THROUGH A MARCH 8-80X56 RIFLE SCOPE .

FOLKS..... I am thinking about buying a March 8-80 power scope. I have never looked through one.
I would like to pay some one $30.00 for the opportunity to look through one. I am taking a road trip this weekend Saturday 3/17 and Sunday 3/18 to MEDFORD WISCONSIN . I am leaving Saturday sometime from the QUAD CITIES IN IOWA and going up Hwy 151 through DUBUQUE IA then taking Hwy 151 to MADISON WISCONSIN then taking Hwy 39 North all the way into WAUSAU / MEDFORD WISCONSIN. Does any one have a MARCH 8-80X56 SCOPE I could look through along this route I could look at ? I am not looking to shoot your gun or anything like that. I just want to look through it . Maybe stick the gun or scope if it is not mounted on anything out the door or a window or garage and look through it at the 80x power level to see if i can see through it , if your neighbors dont get excited. I want to buy one but had a Detached Retina last year and dont know if can see the fine cross hairs and dot or dots on the scope. I want to make sure before I buy one. scope . World Champion BR shooter Stuart Elliott has posted

Like I said ...... I feel better looking through a scope because I have had a detached Retina last year. After 3 operations and $33,000 I still do not see that great. I hate to order this scope for $3300.00 and not be able to use it. You tube will not cut for me clearlight. That is why the post. Marty

If no one is able to meet with you, perhaps you could order one from an online business with a fair return policy IF you are serious about keeping it should it work for you. I certainly wouldn’t recommend this as a regular approach to doing business. Many people order shoes or clothing online only to return it if it doesn’t fit or turns out to be different than expectations. I don’t see this as much different except price. You’ll have to pay return shipping if it doesn’t work out but it will give you the opportunity to test it for a couple days.

Will I hate to do that. Not good business. I am sure some one has one I can look at for 5 Minuites. I just have to make sure I can see cross hairs and dot all right at 80x power. Do big of risk for me to take at $3300.00. Marty

The scope in question is a second focal plane design therefore, the reticle will appear the same irrespective of power setting. The view of the target will be another question due to the small exit pupil of 0.7mm at 80x.

Find a local range that hosts F-Class matches. Contact the match director to see if someone in the group uses a March scope. I'm sure they'd be willing to let you see it.

Will not close to any long ranges or tournaments. That is why the post. Just hoping some one had one along this 360 mile trip this weekend I could look through. That is what I am looking for. Marty

Winnequah Gun Club, Lodi, WI, is just outside Madison. Try contacting the match director. He might know someone who will let you look through his scope even though there isn't a match this weekend.
