Help choose which load to go with 6br

Hey guys

Which one of these loads would you go with? Just trying to weigh my options. The jammed load looks good but jammed loads can be a pain to deal with.

savage 12, mpa chassis (the very first one they made for the savage target action, this gun was the pattern for it)
vortex pst 6x24 on top (hope to soon upgrade)
600 or so rounds down tube.
34.2 gr BL-c2
fed match primer
lapua cases
lapua 90gr scenar-L
.005 jam, .035 off, .055 off, hated .015 off
about 3100fps average.

so.....what do you think?1000004154.jpg1000004151.jpg1000004152.jpg1000004153.jpg

Thanks guys,

This is my first time shooting the 90 scenar or bl-c2. I usually shoot 108eldm and leverevolution .040 off the lands. But since the 108's are unobtainium in my area and I found 600 of the scenars for $150 I snatched them up. I also ended up with the bl-c2 in a trade.

I just loaded up 30 more rounds.

5 @ .005 jam
5 @ .000
5 @ .005 off lands
5 @ .010 off lands
5 @ .030 off lands
5 @ .040 off lands

You could move even closer with increments of .003 if needed.

I'll see how these shoot and adjust from there if needed. This gun loved 105 A-max. It would consistently shoot in the high .2 low .3, my best 5 shot groups with it are .201" and .214"

I really love this gun, just something about a gun you know you can grab and it will shoot for you every time.

I agree with that.

Couple things to help you out.
Instead of loading 5 of various depths, load them all at longest depth, take press with you. If 2 ain't touching 3 won't get any better. Move in smaller increments .003 as you could only be seeing 1 side of your depth window with bigger jumps.

I don't have a portable press but I only live a mile from our range. The biggest hurdle this year has been finding a day without wind. It's been constantly blowing it seems like. I planned on shooting these and then working on either side of my best group in .002" increments.

Thanks for the help guys, I'll let ya know how it goes in the morning.

Well, I was able to sneak down in-between storms. What do you think? I really need to get a good rest. I'm actually designing one in cad right now as I'm still shooting off sandbags. I did however feel good about the trigger pulls. 1000004163.jpg1000004165.jpg1000004166.jpg1000004167.jpg1000004168.jpg1000004169.jpg

Shoot .006-.016 off .002 at a time. 3 shots is plenty.

Pick the most forgiving range and load the longest of it.

Then test some more charges.

I'd probably load back at .010 off the lands and look at neck tension on both sides of the bushing .001 each way from the one you are using now.

Right now I'm taking the chronograph numbers with a grain of salt. I'm using a 25 year old beta chrony and it isn't the most consistent thing especially when it's cloudy. I'm hoping to get the new caldwell velociradar soon. To measure I use my lyman gen6 and have it throw .2 grains low. Then I trickle the rest by hand on my digital scale.

I had planned on loading .008" .010" and .012". The reason I don't shoot 3 shot groups is more than one of those groups would have passed QC if I had only shot 3. It was the 4th and 5th that opened up.

I only have the one bushing right now. I'm using a .268 bushing. I'm also thinking of trying some different primers. Seems like I was getting better numbers with my cci primers than I am with the federal. I've got cci 400, 450, remington number 7's and Fiocchi standards.

I'm thinking I need to anneal my brass. I've got plans drawn up for an induction annealer. I just need to get the parts for it. Unfortunately everything costs money lol. Trying to decide the order of priority for a rest, new chrony, new scope, annealer or auto trickler v4?
