I have a BAT machine short action that I shoot on my 6mmBR. Today I was varmint hunting and first shot I could not move the bolt back but about 1/4 of an inch. I packed up and came to the house and removed the barred action from the stock and removed the trigger. Still, the bolt would lift up easily, the firing pin would re-set, but the bolt would stop about where the lugs start to enter the ejection port. I looked through the mounting hole and could see my fired case still in the chamber. I used a cleaning rod to push the case out and the case came out with no effort. I am assuming my extractor broke and part of the extractor is protruding from the bolt blocking rearward movement. I can replace the extractor, if I could get the bolt out. I am waiting on BAT to open for phone calls at 3pm PST, but I thought some of our gunsmiths could give me some pointers on removing the bolt.
