Any shops have heat treating capabilities.
I have some A2 flat bar needs hardening.

How does one air quench?A2 is relatively easy to heat treat. Heat to about 1800°F, for 0.25" thick hold at temp for just a minute or two and air quench. Temper around 900-1000°F for 2 hours to get ~55hRc
Probably talking about air hardening.a2 can be air hardenedHow does one air quench?
I've personally used Alabama Damascus but not sure they do just anything for anyone.Any shops have heat treating capabilities.

For thin sections, basically <1", just leave it in open air. Thicker section may require forced air blast or interrupted oil quench. Interrupted oil quench is quenched in oil to about 900°F for A2 (til it turns black) then removed and left in open air.How does one air quench?
Plate quenching is a good way to go. Ive done it for thin oil or brine hardening steels like 1084 and 52100 at <.100" thick. If it’s thin and prone to warp you can clamp it between two heavy aluminum plates.
To add: That’s after coming out of the furnace.
