Healthcare over reach!

We sent the home health nurse packing yesterday! 45 minutes of inane questions and some very private! Such as how many pairs of colored drawers do I have! I could go on and on. I am looking forward to PT and OT as they have a purpose. Can you imagine how much of our tax dollars are going to pay for this!
I'm headed to my shop as I have a lot to do and our government ain't subsidizing me.

I went to see my orthopedic yesterday for my hip. Every time I go they have me fill out a questionnaire about my mental state and other bizarre questions that dont pertain to my hip. I stopped filing them out. Probably just something else they can charge you for "mental health assessment." Or in your case "clothing assessment."

If your are on Medicare, they are forced to ask those questions by Medicare. If they don't ask, they will not receive full compensation. It's totally an insurance thing.

@Kevin, before you go on Medicare, check with your taxes from the your past. When, you sign up for Medicare, your tax returns are flagged. I have been self employed since 1981. Had a small glitch in 2003.
Cost me $$$,$$$ back taxes and penelties, since fed computers talk to states.I had income from other states,I had to pay those states.

I am on Medicare now but I remember answering the same kind of questions when on private insurance.

It has nothing to do with the healthcare you're going to receive. It is to provide data to the healthcare and insurance industries.

Hell yes, you showed him/her! How dare someone ask questions they are required to ask by their employer/agency to keep their job and pay bills! Certainly it wasn’t questions about the possibility of needing financial assistance if someone didn’t have enough underwear or a round about way to ask about incontinence without directly saying “do you pee on yourself much?” If y’all ever wonder why “people don’t want to work” you’ve answered your question.

My personal favorite is "do you feel safe in your home?"
Abuse screening question. Abuse happens a lot more than we to acknowledge. Standard every office visit and every time you go to the ER.

Edited for clarification.

Here's my - not so - favorite.

Health Care Questioner ("HCQ"): "Do you own your home?"
SmittyJon: ("SJ") "Yes.
HCQ: "Do you live alone?"
SJ: "Yes."
HCQ: "Is anyone in your home abusing you?"

It's tempting to say "No one ... other than myself," ;) but these people have NO sense of humor, so I ask, "What was your previous question, and my answer to it?"

HCQ : <crickets>
SJ: "How the Hell can I be abused, if no one lives in my home but me?"
HCQ: "Ah ... okay, moving along to the next question. Do you ever etc., etc. etc.?"
SJ: <under breath> "ggggrrrrrrrr!"
