Heads up on bullets

I have found several bullets that I use in stock in the last few months at Brownells.com. Just by accident I found them as they were never stock items years ago. I think this probably ties in with their purchase of Sinclair. Anyway, not only did they have some stuff that I couldn't find anywhere else, it was also less $ that I am used to paying. Win-win.

Ref the PV 175s: I received 500 a couple days ago and dumped them out on an old towel in the middle of the living room floor. (My wife is used to this). Found 2 22 caliber bullets, looked like either 80 or 90 grainers. Also found 1 - 175 with a dent around the middle of the boat tail, looked like it may have had a 6mm or 6.5mm base punch installed when it was formed. Also found a few with a dent or nick in the bearing surface just back of the full diameter point. The rest looked fine. This was NOT a one bullet at a time inspection. I looked at them, rolled them some, looked, rolled, repeated several times. I then counted them out into 100 round piles. Found 2 more while doin the count. Good chance there may be a couple more with the dents. After molying them this dent shound standout better. Will do another look after the moly. Dented bullets will be used to determine max powder charge since accuracy is not needed for this function.

i have some of the 175 pv bullets. They shoot good you just have to sort by length. unless some thing has changed. They should be smk the plant is just a short drive away from sierra.

I just looked at 500 168 grainers and 500 77 .224 bullets,no problems,will sort but they look pretty good.

Bulletman, sorry I wasn't clear, these where the blems on sale. But to me blems are cosmetic, 2nds are minor defects. Still most seem good to go! And I also got a bunch of the 77's, I'm a spacegun HiPower shooter. Haven't looked at them get.

I sorted 500 PV 175 by weight and ogive-base measurement. Weight can vary by 2 grains and the ogive-base measurement can vary by 20thou.
