Head space gauge for 284norma

I just purchased a mcgowen barrel, 6.5x284norma. I've been told that a 284win. head space gauge would not work because of case dimensions being different. Norma being a rimmed case. Any idea where to get a 284norma head space gauge?

Dave Kiff PT%G can set you up with a gauge..
Never noticed the 6.5x284 Lapua case was rimmed.....

hey guys i just purchase a model 12 f savage 6.5x284 Norma
but i never reload this type i have been reloading for about a tear my 308 win,300 win.mag but i need help with this i can't get it to work i got Norma 6.5x 284 brass h4350 and 6.5 bullets 140 grain sierra but it does't give the dimension of 3.228 is too short or i got it wrong can you guys help me out to get a set of dies and the type of bullets the i need to get
to make this work i got it for 3 month and i have search every where for info but i end up with nothing the will help ahead i thank you all for the help

Melviccintron - Hey I just purchased a 6.5x284 norma prefit barrel from Jim of Northland supply. Had simillar question. Gave Dave Kiff of PTG a call for a 6.5x284 headspace gauge,,Norma go gauge). Got a box of 500 Noslers from a friend. 130gr.COL is 3.309 Hunter @ 51.0gr. 3098fps. No pressure sign. Will be trying H4831sc. Seems to be everyone else favorite. Also seat it a little closer to the lands. We'll see what happens.


Ps- Looked up nosler and recommended COL. 3.310 I guess I'm getting pretty close.
