Head scratcher!

No problem. GRT is load simulation software, not a tool. Runs on Windows or Linux (no Mac version.) Free, which is why I use it over Quickload. Be aware, though, that like any other tool, it can be subject to errors.
You just hit on the magic word 'computer"! I made up my mind once that I was going to figure it out and bought Quick Loads. Never did figure it out, sons bought me the updated one a few years later and I couldn't make it work either, even bought a bigger computer and that just made things worse for me, darn machine just confounds me. I can kinda sorta use a smart phone like posting pics on the site, with my phone I can do it 15 seconds but with that damn computer I can't do it in 15hrs! All the steps to hide the picture in the right place on the computer and then all the steps to find it and then all the steps to to redo and rename ect is just too much for my feeble old mind, guess I was born to early for the new ways, didn't mean to rant, thanks for the help... John

Another data point to this about dead thread:

I have a quantity of I believe late 70's LC 5.56 ammo that is only used in a Ruger Mini-14. It's the closest stick to my pillow. Figured it was better to have factory ammo than handloads for it's purpose. Periodically I empty the mag after a quick cleaning. Last time about 1/3 of the pieces of brass had split necks after firing. I bumped the bullets a little deeper into the case. Still had a few split necks? Cold weld? Don't know.
