hBN bullet coating techniques

I have started treating my bullets and barrels with hBN and have had great results. I'm using the bottle that came in my Tubbs kit and a vibratory tumbler to treat. I've had inconsistent results so far as to getting a good even coating. Heating the bullets seems to help.
What are other methods you are using ? I don't own the vibratory tumbler I've been using because I went to wet tumbling with SS media and sold off my old tumbler. I'm looking at either buying another vibratory tumbler or maybe one of the smaller rubber barreled rotary tumblers. Has anyone tried a small 3 or 6 pound tumbler for bullets and if so what media are you using with it ?
I'm thinking the two barreled 6 pound model would be about right. I could keep corn cobb media in one for pre cleaning the bullets and the hBN treated media of some kind in the other.
Looking for better ideas.

Use the SEARCH feature, one post contained detailed info with pictures on how he used a Vibrator type cleaner and a heating lamp to coat his bullets.
He also detailed that the HbN didn't produce any improved accuracy it's main function was to eliminate most of the cleaning that was the main cause of worn out barrels.

There is info on this web site under today's bulletin about coating bullets.
Its a great read.
Addresses procedures for coating.
My secret was the addition of steel B 's and vibrate with bullets for about 3 hours.
They come out perfect after a lite towel-sock to knock off any excess coating.
Just my 2 cents worth.

Ready today's article--really good for any coating.

I have not tried hBN yet but have used the harbor freight tumbler to wet coat with moly. One handy hint I stumbled across (here perhaps) was to replace the two rubber drums with a plastic applesauce bottle from Walmart (Great Value brand - I forget size). The bottle holds more than a drum and rolls easy.

If you try this with hBN I will be very interested in your results.

I switched from Moly to hBN 5 years ago and haven't looked back!
I use tin/nickle coated BB's and a vibrator for three hours, no problems and excellent barrel life and long cleaning periods.

Best data on hBN coating is on the Swiss Rifle web site.

I moly coat using the wet method in a rotary tumbler and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't coat my bullets if I had to do them dry.

I'm led to believe that you can't wet coat with hBN. Is that correct?

Not sure about wet coating bullets with hBN . I use a slurry of 91% alcohol and hBN to coat my barrel after cleaning.

And, why would you like to wet coat hBN? I switched to hBN as it didn't require wet coating and it was a way easier and CLEANER process.

Wet coating does not work. It will leave a very light surface residue that you will wipe off with handling the bullets, as in reloading. Impact coating does work. Experience speaking on both counts. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

I used my old gem tumbler for hBN. I have an old square shaped plastic peanut butter container which is inserted and fixed into a round coffee tine. I put several hundred projectiles into the plastic container with a small amount of hBN. Let tumble for a few hours all done and coated perfectly. No BB's or metal balls or anything. The square shape makes them fall a bit further inside and impact on each other.
