Hawke rifle scopes

Dimner

I do believe in Captain Crunch.
Has anyone had any experience with Hawke? They have a very impressive scope lineup with features that I like for hunting and prone field shooting. I can find some reviews online e, but not really any recent feedback on this forum here. I know they are not a competition scope contender... but I'm looking to see where they fit within rifle scope brands that I am more familiar with. Meaning equivalent models from leupold, burris, sightron, vortex.....

Had a few on airguns with no complaints for the pricepoint. I actually boutht the new tactical/prs type FFP 34mm model about a year or two ago. Unfortunately its still laying on the floor next to the gun I never got finished. Working on it again.
That new scope has decent glass and a reasonable reticle. For it's intended use I am sure it will be a good scope. I seem to remember paying about 1200 bucks.

I have two of the 3-9 variables on a couple air rifles. Tough and decent glass. Very popular in Europe and England.

I have 3 of their air-rifle scopes. Tried to use on springer air rifles. wouldn't come close to holding a zero. Terrible, worst customer "service" told me unless the scope's reticle was optically centered, I shouldn't expect the scope to hold a zero. There are many scopes much better and backed by competent customer service.
Somewhat surprised to hear this. If this is now typical, it is what happens when a company is purchased by a 'cut & slash' conglomerate. Put bean counters in charge. First thing to go is customer service.
I have had absolutely superb CS from Hawke, but, my last warranty issue was several years ago. They replaced a unrepairable 10 year old scope with a current model. I hope your experience is not the new normal for Hawke CS.

A stupid answer you should not have accepted. Ask for their supervisor, everyone has one. Call back another day you might get s better rep. Now if your saying you have 3 Hawks and none will hold zero I think you need some help on how to mount one on an air rifle properly. I have 2 Hawkes, both have been on my Diana 54, no issues.

substitute scopes mounted on my 54's all hold a zero and preform perfectly. been shooting/competing with airguns for 50 some years, but always learning. Mounts are tough, currently using "BKL" without problems.

I've never had an issue with them holding zero but the white ring around the lense looking through it is annoying. For what they cost they do very well for hunting , varminting etc.

My experiences began in May of 2021. they replaced a new scope that had broken internally and I was very pleased so I bought several more. August of 2021 I called their customer service asked for the same guy spoken to in May. "Had" to speak to another who told me not to send in my scopes as just about all issues were caused by mounting errors. I was directed to view their on-line tutorial dealing with this issue. He said poor/mis mounting caused scopes to get too far off optical center and they wouldn't be expected to hold a zero. From May of 2021 to August of 2021 all changed. They may have changed back to the old/great customer service. More power to all who have had outstanding luck with these very clear and bright scopes. As for myself, fool me once-shame on you, fool me twice-shame on me.

I have them on air rifles, both PCP and springer. Works well. Likely will by another Airmax for a HW30.

I have no experience with their customer service.

I have a 6x24x50 the the long range dot illuminated reticle, by far best reticle for varmints which is all I hunt, GH's ,fox, coyote ,crows ,cats, beavers etc. It's a second focal plane as long as you range your predicted distances you'll expect to shoot you're good. It's too bad that many other scope manufacturers don't make a similar reticle set up, catering to long range target shooters with that busy nonsense. By the time you draw down with one of them the quarry is gone .JMO and I shoot as many many varmints with mine love it. Sightron an Meopta make a decent floating dot, Meopta CS is lousy, Sightrons is great I'm leaning towards a Sightron floating dot for my 204.

Well, I have been using my 4-16x for load development earlier this spring and I have to say it is outstanding for the price. I have not compared them to my Leupold freedoms or older Vx2. Nor the one Vortex crossfire I have. I think I may take a look this weekend out the window in twilight with a few of these scopes.

I have 2 on springers. Thousands of shots, no problems. One is a D54 known as a "scope killer". Thinking about putting one on my 22 br ghog rifle. Good buy for the money. No, not Sightron or NF glass but a fraction of the money and very serviceable.

I recently purchased a Hawke compact spotting scope. 9-27x56. It’s tiny. Like you can hold it with one hand tiny, almost monocular size. Angled head.

It gets a bit hazy at full power but for $270 it’s well worth the money for spotting at the range. I can easily see 22 holes at 300 yards in low mirage and can watch impacts on steel at 900.

Lifetime no fault warranty like Vortex as well.

After buying this I wouldn’t hesitate to try out a scope from them.
