have you measured your barrel twist to ensure you got what you ordered and took delivery of ?

My situation was that I ordered the barrel and supplied it to the gunsmith. Yes, the onus would have been on me to check the barrel twist - which I didnt, made the mistake of assuming it was an 1:8 since the blank was stamped by KRIEGER with 1:8 and that was good enough for me.
Water under the bridge - live and learn, interesting how many others have had the same experience.

I bet if it is stamped 8 twist, it is one. Kriegers twists are always on the money because they follow a big and are cut rifled. When they run barrels, they run a bunch because it takes awhile to change the rifling machines. Matt

I measured it about 10 times ...and it measured 1:8.5 every time.
Maybe that extra .5 is considered to be within their acceptable quality control tolerances even though it's stamped 1:8
