Looking to rebarrel a Steyr SSG08 and have a few questions. Everything I can find out from Steyr is that the barrel is screwed in and not pressed. Also seems to have a lug bushing of some sort that will come out once the barrel is unscrewed. Not sure if it shoulders on that or something else. I read on another forum of someone talking about the bolt going through the recoil lug having something to do with barrel retention. Has anyone actually been into one of these things?
