Has anyone heard of Jack Childress?

I posted in the Rimfire section, but figured this may get better results.

I may be getting a rimfire 40x project with proven provenance back to the original owner in the 1950s as partial payment for some work I did.
The current owner, who bought it from the original one, says it has a barrel made by a guy from Indiana named Jack Childress, probably in the 1960s.
Jack was supposed to be a pretty good gun wrench/barrel maker in the area near Indiana University in the 50s and 60s, possibly later.
If anyone has info on Jack, I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Jack worked in and around the Bloomington, IN. area. He passed away in 2001 at the age of 92 years old.

That is one stunning piece of firearm art. If Jack lived till he was 92, he won at the game of life. Thanks for the info. I'll let my friend know. I'm not sure if he is aware of the details since he's been away from Indiana here in the Land of Oz for over 30 years.

Those old cats sure were craftsmen
This is very true Dusty. Mr. Earl Biesecker of Wauwatosa WI was such a gunsmith. He was a belly gunner on a bomber in WWII and a graduate of Purdue University in Mechanical Engineering and as a retired engineer built rifles. I had several rifles built by Mr. Biesecker and his work was flawless. I got to meet him before he passed away in 2009.

I have heard of him but I've never had his rifles as far as I know, The guy to get a hold of is Bill Stipp. He used to have a gun shop in Bloomington. Not sure how he has it in the book but his real name is John William. Wife's name is Judy.
