Hart Arbor Press

Hi guys,

I have decided to use Wilson dies for my target trg 308Win and custom 220 swift.

What options are there in Arbor presses… im looking at the best available either Custom or commercially made?

I was looking at the Giraud Arbor Press, but Doug tells me that he has not had a chance to make any for quite a while and has nun in stock. Because the case trimmer business is going so well at the moment,.

Were can I buy the Hart press as an option?.. And are they a good choice?

I had been using Redding comp bushing dies but sold them to a mate who is just getting stated.

I have a sinclair arbor press with wilson dies and love it!!! they have several different packages on their site that you can choose from--it is the sinclair arbor press/wilson combo. just select the dies you want (stainless or not, or micro adjustable seater, and select a bushing size)

I had a Hart arbor press for a while (local gun store carries them occasionally) - nice, well made, a little heavy. Very easy to adjust the height from neck sizing dies to micrometer-topped seaters.

Along the way, I picked up a Harrell's combo press and sold the Hart. Now I'm starting to think about getting a K&M press and selling the Harrell's.

I've been happily using the Hart arbor press for years. I use it for my .308, .25-06 and my .204 Ruger.

Good piece of gear, as are the Wilson dies.

I have purchased Harrell Arbor Press, I hope I have made the correct choice here I have with no experience with these press?

I don't think you can really go wrong with an arbor press. Especially one that is precision machined like the Harrell's. It looks to be very similar to the Sinclair, and it probably is. I have seen a few reviews on the Sinclair and all have been positive, so I would think the Harrell's will work well.
The only arbor press I have seen that appears to have any advantage is the K&M.

One thing I didn’t realize is the Wilson neck die only resize 3/16" of the neck, thats not much. I thought it would have been adjustable similar to the Redding bushing comp die, or have i missed something?

No, that's normal. It's all you need, and a plus is that the slightly larger diameter bottom neck section helps centre the case / loaded round in the chamber.

Just read your post from last week. Might considering taking a look at Russ Haydon's website, www.shooters-supply.com. Though its is not a Hart Arbor Press, he makes and sells his own for $106.95. I've used his arbor for the past year and I use Wilson Dies exclsuively in it with fantastic results. Defintely not as pretty as a Hart, but works very nicely. My shooting partner has used a Hart (and a Haydon arbor) for several years in Benchrest competitions and say Russ' works just as well and for a lot less money. Info only.

OPS! Just saw your post that you bought a Harrel. Thats even cheaper than Russ Haydons and works just as well. I actually like the Harrell because of the return spring. My partner has one of those too and likes it as well as the others. Guess the real difference is the $$$$ because they all load ammo just fine. Good Luck and good call!
