Harrells Tuner Brake

Question for the people that are used a Harrells Tuner Brake . Do you clean with it on the barrel or are you removing it to clean? If you remove two clean are you still tuned when you reinstall it . Thanks

The couple I use don't take them off. Clean as normal but always a visual check to make sure patch material hasn't gotten hung up in there.

I remove it and soak it in CLR for about thirty minutes

I think as long as you get the tuner/brake installed exactly where it was you should be still close if not in tune.

It seems much easier to clean it removed from the barrel.

I wouldn't use CLR if there's an o-ring in the tuner

Harrels tuner/brake does not use orings. If properly installed, the brake should shoulder up on a threaded tenon. So, removal is perfectly fine. Just make sure nuts don't rotate.
