LKW -I need a copy or some info setting the dial on the Harrels precision powder dropper....I bought this one used so instructions were with it...
This is what it looks like... I've screwed the knob all the way inLKW -
Howdy !
Does your Harrel's powder measure feature an adjustable powder space inside a rotary housing, that you adjust by turning an adjustment knob in / out ?

Okay thanks for the help gentlemenOnce you find your "weight" go up and down a click at a time and see what you get for actual weight changes.
So this is this 94 clicks...is that how you read it
The way I read that, same model as mine, is 54 3/4 clicks. I run the powder drop up, weighing each time. When it drops the amount of powder I want on my scale I record the number. When I load for the rifle I turn the dail to the clicks, verify the weight on my scale and have at it.So this is this 94 clicks...is that how you read it
Thanks that what I'll do.Here is a cheat sheet I made that I keep secured to the lid of my range box. This is for the lot of powder I’m working with right now and is only a snapshot in time from the day I did it, but it is still a valid reference for me. Your lot will be different so go through the process.
Thanks that what I'll do.
I did notice a few times it would clog up and not drop all the powder. I raise the arm let it make a slight tap and then slowly lower it...
I'll go back out in the shop later and throw some more chargs..
Thatz what I was seeing was a few more kernel falling if I gave it a tap at the bottom.Lots of guys don’t tap, but I’ve had my best success with two light taps at the bottom of the throw. Sometimes a few kernels of powder will hang up at the top of the drop tube and the slight tap sets them free.
I'm noticing that the powder is getting stuck inside the housing after a few throws and very lil comes out then the next throw has more than a case full...Lots of guys don’t tap, but I’ve had my best success with two light taps at the bottom of the throw.
