HARD eject issue

ok i have a model 70 stainless action in 7WSM---i had it trued with a sleeved bolt and extended surgeon style handle and had timney trigger and had the headspace done ...i returned it to the smith that did the work and also another smith said everythings fine...it not! its far from fine! about every 3 or 4 shots the action jams so hard i need to get up put my left hand on the gun and pull up on the bolt with everything i got,im a 200 pound logger) so i not just bein a puss also im using rather moderate loads..nowhere close to max capacity...any suggestions or known good quality smiths in Wisconsin?

Sounds like the bolt is now out of time.

jpatnode, do the rounds that are hard to extract hard to chamber? Are the rounds loaded so that the bullets are jambed into the rifling? what do the primers on the rounds that extract easily look like? what do the primers look like on the rounds that are hard to extract? More info may help in figureing out what your problem is. is the chamber rough? regards,treeman

If the bolt was out of time wouldn't it be the same on all the shots?

Sounds like excessive pressure. Check the length of your cases.'' also over all length of the round. The cases probably need full length resizing with a small base die.
If it continues you have a rifle problem. Just because a loaded round at a certain charge works in one rifle, it doesn,t mean it will work in another rifle. each load should be worked up for each rifle. There are many things that could be a problem. Bullet weight primer and case combination and lot of powder come into play. Take it easy and find the load that gives best accuracy and liveable recoil. speed isn't every thing. If all of this happens with a light load you can be sure somethings wrong with the rifle.

Thanks for the info guys. primers all look great, it mostly does it with every load,factory,high pressure,low pressure, a different smith has it right now but i did notice that after looking at the brass there looks like theres "blow by" down the top of the case, it only does it when ejecting,never loading. Gerry just gave me a good thought that went right past me, my smith said it would be fine, but the new 180 bergers are LONG, i wonder if my overall lengths are just to long for my neck? how would that react?
