Harbor Freight black aluminum oxide media (Sand)

I need to get some heavy sand pretty quickly so I bought a bag of Lizard litter from the pet store but it is very fluffy and light. I was looking at Harbor Freight and saw that had Black Oxide blasting media and wondered how close that is to the heavy sand that Sinclair's sells? Does anyone have any experience with the Harbor Freight media compared to real heavy sand?

That's what I use. It works great. It's on the finer grit side so it flows well through the funnel. I've never used the stuff from Sinclair so I can't compare.

As far as weight goes heavy sand is noticeably much heavier than blasting sand. However, I prefer blasting media with it's irregular jagged shapes because it won't keep settling causing one to readjust for sight picture from shot to shot. When I used heavy sand, I learned not to use it in the ears. IMO if you need extra weight in the bag to keep it from moving then there is something amiss with your bag/rest set-up or your shooting form. Ditto for the weight of the front rest.

What are you using in the ears?

Tks

Bulk Iron filings if you're really wanting heavy. Same day delivery in some cities from Amazon.
I have a few ideas how to keep it from rusting and seizing together.

For competition, don't some groups prohibit metal as a bag fill?
