happy birthday Jesus

Years ago, YEARS AGO, 45 years ago, my wife and I would go to Mass on Sunday and drop the kid's off at Sunday School with the nuns. After Mass, this was the Sunday before Christmas, we went back to pick up the kids. We asked them how the Christmas program was. One of the girls said it was nice but they sang "Happy Birthday Jesus" and he wasn't even there.

1 Corinthians 13 Christmas Style

©By Sharon Jaynes

If I decorate my house perfectly with lovely plaid bows, strands of twinkling lights, and shiny glass balls, but do not show love to my family – I’m just another decorator.

If I slave away in the kitchen, baking dozens of Christmas cookies, preparing gourmet meals, and arranging a beautifully adorned table at mealtime, but do not show love to my family – I’m just another cook.

If I work at the soup kitchen, carol in the nursing home, and give all that I have to charity, but do not show love to my family – it profits me nothing.

If I trim the spruce with shimmering angels and crocheted snowflakes, attend a myriad of holiday parties, and sing in the choir’s cantata but do not focus on Christ, I have missed the point.

Love stops the cooking to hug the child.

Love sets aside the decorating to kiss the husband.

Love is kind, though harried and tired.

Love doesn’t envy another home that has coordinated Christmas china and table linens.

Love doesn’t yell at the kids to get out of your way.

Love doesn’t give only to those who are able to give in return, but rejoices in giving to those who can’t.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

Love never fails. Video games will break; pearl necklaces will be lost; golf clubs will rust. But giving the gift of love will endure.

i HATE "Happy Holidays" its either "Happy Thanksgiving", "Happy Hanukkah", "Merry Christmas" or "Stay Safe on Amateur Nite"

I enjoy living in the west, and the moral basis that we set our laws to. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and all other aspect that have their roots in christianity. However, I do find the origins of religions endlessly interesting and entertaining.
I was a latin-Going Catholic for over a half of a century until I decided to learn and understand religions, and of about their origins, how long they lasted, and what they were replaced with.
The video I am posting explains why a lot of religions are based on the 3-day death and resurrection. It has to do with the stars and the changing of the seasons. It is not just a coincidence that the shortest day of the year (December 21st), the stars seem to stand still for 3 days. And then, with the different rotation of the earth, (That signals the beginning of the longer days, thus more sun, heat, and crops), the earth begins to rotate towards the spring and life giving events.
This point is only one of many, many other points in revealing how that all religions are man-made. I find education very interesting. And when you combine education with understanding religious conflicts that we have been seeing since their invention, we can now apply this knowledge and plan for a more peaceful future for ourselves and out future generations. And this has to be agreed with as a good thing, does it not? Peace! And happy new year! Yea!

If you a referring to stars standing still for the wise men, that did not happen necessarily at his birth. Possibly it was much later when they visited but if it happens yearly what made that particular time different?. That probably took place a couple years later. Also nothing is said about 3 wise men but only 3 gifts. Could have been more, could have been less. We are all entitled to our own beliefs and that one reason our country is great. It would be dreadful to walk trough life with out hope, without the love Christ shared thinking only I am here by mere chance and not made to glorify God. It is not what some man says behind a pulpit or what I read out of some self help book, but it is what changes inside me it is what I feel welling up within me that bares witness to the truth that testifies to the realness of Christ with in me which is the sweet Holy Spirit he sent which I hear leading, guiding , directing, teaching, revealing, and lighting my way. Those that have never givin thier heart and received Christ do not understand until they are drawn with an undeniable calling that cannot be explained by man and then give their heart to Jesus. It's not learned from books nor fancy education (which I have plenty of) but can be found anywhere ant the universe for even creation itsself bares witness and even in the last seconds on a death bed it can and is found. I pray for convicion and drawing of the hearts of everyone who happens by this site in the name of sweet Christ Jesus, amen.

Religion of all stripes, is man attempting to EARN favor with his god. Works, legalism.

Christianity alone. Is were GOD wrapped himself in a dark wet womb, became vulnerable, became one of us. Came to die for what we could not pay for, and gave us the free gift of hope. Nothing we can do, or give, earns any favor with HIM. He's far too perfect. Thank you Jesus.
