Handloads.com

That site seems to have issues often. I hope it comes back up. There were some load pages with J. Taffin loads that I referenced for both .40S&W .480 Ruger. I guess if the site starts working again, I'll have to copy those pages so I have them.

The site went down 1/31 and has been down since. I was a member there since 2003 but haven't spent any time there in the last 3 years. There must be 5 members there that post anymore and they are dying off.

There is no one doing maintenance on the site anymore and maybe this time it's gone for good. Was a good site in its day but you need new members and good topics to keep a site going.

I hope it didn't go the way of Reloaders Nest. That site did offer a lot of information from actual shooters and gave an idea of where to start with different components. It did have the usual disclaimers also but there were results offered from several actual shooters to compare and it seemed obvious where to start safely at least.
I miss it for sure.

Yea, I haven't been able to access it either. I like their ballistic calculator - used it many many times - I will miss that for sure.

That's what I liked the most as well. I need to find another that simple and easy to use.

I think the owner wasn't going to renew the site last I heard. .

There were some great articles on there as well. My favorite was by you, "A Special .44". That one got me started in .44 and had my favorite load in it.

I figured the site was not going to last much longer, there was no one left to post.

Hope this isn't some "political" thing. I've read about internet censorship happening more and more.
In the case of handloads.com it was overdue. The software was ancient, no interesting posts and only about 4 members posting.

I wondered when the end was coming for the last 4 years. I'm sure the owner got tired of paying the bill for the site.

The owner was busy with other things or as they say: Life Happens. He no longer took part in the forum & I'm surprised he paid the bills long as he did. It was a good simple place I enjoyed for years though I did little there in the last few years.

Thank you Joe.

I'd bet John kept that site running for 10 years after Life Happened, I have a lot of respect for him because of that. I had talked to a few people about taking it over from John but nothing ever came of it.
