Hammer time starts at IBS first 100 yard score match 2026

This year kicked off at Black Creek shooting range in VA, First match goes to Dewey Hancock and Julz Hancock in close second, with Lee Martin right there as well. Great shooting ladies and Lee

Dewey hit the ground running this year, gonna clinch his SOY place early this year.

Second match went to Steve and followed by Chuck Boller, and Lee Martin great scores for a tough second match with the wind coming in and sun poking out of the clouds.

The over all Agg went to as expected Lee Martin, the one that’s tough to beat every month. Followed up by steve, Mr Dewey Hancock and Mr Chuck Boller. Greats shooting guys.

We had 4 hunter guns show up, 2 of us shot both guns today, which Chuck and I haven’t shot a score gun at all since October so had some dust to blow off both of them.

First match went to Jeff in hunter
Second match went to Mr Mike Poole in hunter
And agg went to Mike Poole
My 14 & 15 X’s in hunter gun wasn’t enough to catch them but it’s also first match of the year and shooting 2 gun can be a strain.
We did have 3 500shooters in hunter so that’s always impressive.

It was a good match, decent turnout want to thank Lee Martin for scoring the match’s with Chris Allen and helping secure Black Creek range again for matches since new owner ship was taken place this year and we missed some tune up time this winter.

This years point race should be interesting with Dewey Hancock and Mr Jim cline head to head, not to mention Shannon Robinson and Mike Clayton getting ready next week. And maybe they all should watch out for a Lee Martin or Julz Hancock.

So let’s get out there and get to Hammering

congratulations to everyone

Great shooting to the guys and girls in the top 10…. Not much separating those shooters. I think I received another lesson in load getting out of tune as the day warmed up and that tricky little wind in that hole… man, only 100yds… can’t be that tough right…tough is a relative term when you shooting beside top teer folks. I had a great time! Take care all!

Funny how everyone last year thought it was a honey hole, I believe it was said “An air rifle could win that match” lol
I’ve won there several times and you had better bring your A game and have at least a 21-23X gun to win and 20X to maybe be in top 3.

See you at Rattlesnake in couple weeks Gene.

It was a good turnout and a good match. Congrats to all that shot well. Sometimes all you have to do is hang around long enough to let everyone else mess up. ;)Thanks to Lee for putting in the effort to get the range back for matches again this year and run the matches. Thanks to all that help with making the matches happen.
