Hall action / Eliseo chassis

I have a .22 rifle - Hall action in an Eliseo chassis as stated. How difficult is it to remove the barreled action from the chassis? As I’ve gotten older and, unfortunately, less mobile, the weight of the rifle has become a factor as well as the fact that I shoot primarily off a joystick rest. I would like to put the barreled action (shoots well!) in a typical benchrest stock. Any help or advice? Thanks, gentlemen.

Can't recall how, exactly, the Hall mounts into the Eliseo stock, but if it's anything like his others it's not hard to unmount; you should just need a set of Allen wrenches.

Knowing Gary, I'll bet you could give him a call or an email and get a copy of the relevant instructions, too.

As long as the action wasn't glued into the Eliseo chassis, you shouldn't have to do anything more than loosen the allen head capscrews to get it out. That's provided that the Hall action has a trigger hanger that you can remove from the bottom of the chassis. I've never had an Eliseo chassis for a RF action, only R5 & RTS chassis for Rem 700 SA. However, in looking on the website, it appears that you should be able to remove front & rear capscrews from the grip assembly and the front action screw to get it out of the chassis tube.

And if it was glued in, the heat of an electric clothes iron on the cotton setting will warm it up enough to get it out. I had a bbl'd action that refused to come out of the stock I'd bedded it into the next morning, and by placing my old clothes iron on the scope rail of the action while the rifle was held stable in a cleaning cradle, I was able to pull it out easily after about 30 min. I used to have Gary's shop ph# but lacking that, it appears that you'd need to email him at: https://www.gotxring.com/email-us/
