Hakko/Japan Optics Limited

I saw these scopes in action recently. Japan Optics Limited/Hakko direct from Japan has reformed and are producing their new "TACTICAL" line and WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have a "mildot" reticle so precise that you can not only shoot F-class or tactical events, one shooter was using the 10-50x56 model with same reticle to shoot "BENCHREST". Yes, benchrest at 600 yards and took first place!!

They are distributed by "ARK GROUP" here in the U.S. and are "NOT" the old Hakko of yesterday. The turrets on these things are "THE BEST" that I have ever seen on "ANY" rifle scope currently available to the shooting public. The glass, resolution etc. is going to cause quite an interest to shooters that are buying high end optics. These are definetly "high end" and priced to sell!!

Look at "Gun Broker.com" and search "Hakko" for the company info and pricing.

The "old" Hakko was the maker of the first Night Force, Tasco Custom Shop and Springfield Armory scopes....not bad optics in there day.

Hello Taildrag15x, yes they were all great optics. Hakko still has there hand in optics all over the world.

This new Hakko/JOL product is a premium effort by the company since they have regrouped. I have owned and shot with every scope out there (except March) and I am more than impressed by what Im seeing. The 10-50x56 is just amazing!!!!

Its not only bright and super clear, it "DOES NOT" have the miserable exit pupil and sight picture problems that go along with hi-mag optics. Put your head behind this scope and "Houstin we have sight picture" You can position your head all you want and you wont lose the sight picture. I will add, that the mil-dot reticle is super fine (like 1/8 dots) and you will not have issues with long range precision target shooting.

While I was at the shoot In Swainsboro, GA. over the weekend,I looked at a 28 yearold Hakko Scope and I thought to myself, pretty nice. About 3 weeks ago I looked thru 2 newer Hakko's. 1 was on a Tactical rig and the other a BR rifle, both were very clear on a very hot, sunny, humid day here in N. Florida. I had one of my rifles with a T24 Weaver which did not even run close to the Hakko optics. Now back to the shoot. The fella shooting next to me had one of those 10-50x56 Hakko's and I had my 12-42X56 N.F. Side by side I compared them and was a little disapointed in my N.F. The Hakko was clearer on 50 then my N.F. was on 42. and you can move your head around without losing your sightpicture. These scopes are definately worth taking a good look at. The mildot in that 10-50 I believe are 1/16 for they are smaller then my 1/8 dot in my Weaver. I know there are people out ther that are N.F. crazy, mine may have to go down the road and be replaced with these Hakko's. ;)

dgd6mm, I found these people. I gave them a call and talked about these Japan Optics Limited products. I think that they are going to do quite well.

www.ark-groupllc.com

What bothers me about the web site that you listed.. Ark Group LLC. is that there is not an address listed on the website.. just a number and an email address.. did a search and the number is a Gainsville, Fl number, but could not find a listing for Ark Group LLC listed in Gainsville, Fl.

Agree totally. Disclosure is important for me to feel comfortable about ordering anything. Any time I see a website where there is no physical address listed or a valid business telephone number listed in the phone book, I worry about the validity of the company.
I am sure that whom ever Arc Group is, they are operating from their home, which is no issue, but for me to feel comfortable, I want to know where they are and that they have a registered telephone number as a business. Otherwise I really have to wonder how serious this company is about becoming a real player in the market. Hobby companies are fine, but I would think if they feel that these scopes are worthy of nation wide consideration, they would make themselves "look" like a real business.
Maybe this situation will change soon, but right now, I am a little skeptical. The optics are less of a concern as the reputation of the firm behind the scopes is solid. I just want to see the distributor step up and show that they are trying to make this a growing concern and not just a hobby.

Froggy and Mike, I also think like the rest of the world. I decided to investigate this issue also. I happen to live roughly 50 miles from Gainsville ,Fl. I called the number listed on the web-site this morning and happened to catch up with the company owner. Today is Sunday, I expected that I would get a message machine but the owner answered the phone.

He invited me to drive up and meet with him. They are moving into a new building and in the middle of it all he gave me a guided tour. There is no doubt that ARK Group is for real. I do not get the chance to tour the inside of a company that often and I can say that the owner is a serious business man. I did see this man at my last shoot where they were displaying and shooting with Japan Optics Ltd. scopes.

Finally, I do not have an interest in this company. I do however, have an interest in this line of optics. They are professional optics, and I can see why this company has chosen to represent "Japan Optics Limited". From what I have heard, JOL doesnt deal with just anybody or any company these days.

just looked at the ark web site.. the price for the 8-34 was 999.00. thats more than a sightron 8-32 and not much less than a nightforce.. if i spend that much it will have to be with a established companyand proven product. just my 02 cents.

Just passing on a new product. I have also passed along a legitimate source for this product. The company has been operating since 2003. Now that we all have a new and high quality addition to the list of scope companies, each to his own. Its my goal here to discuss product and procedures and finally to learn. This will be my last comment on this matter. ::)

Straightpipes, I will be using 2 of the new Hakkos on my rifles. One is for my Tactical .308 and the other will be used on my 30BR during the next shoot. I plan on using it in the IBS Ga State shoot at Dublin, Ga. In November, come on up and shoot if you would like too. I will let you know the results on what I think of the Hakko's... Thanks for hooking me up with Noah at Ark..

God bless and remember to VOTE THIS NOVEMBER!!!

I am not against Ark by any stretch. All that I would ask for is a telephone number that is listed in the telephone book and a physical address for full disclosure. It just makes me feel like a company is seriously in business. As far as the optics are concerned, I have zero problems with the company behind them. I look forward to seeing their products. The price points are seriously attractive to me given the quality of the manufacturer. If anything I am sure that these will increase as the market place learns of them.

Are you fellas getting these Hakko scopes from the link above? I have looked and cant seem to find another company other than one from Australia?

Thanks

Been out of town for about a week, just seen the new posts. I've looked thru the Sightron 8-32 and they are not as clear has the 10-50 Hakko on full power. It's one of those things, you have to see to believe. The last N.F. I bought was $1359.00 for a 12-42x56 BR. and I'm sure my N.F. 8-32x56 BR wasn't a whole lot cheaper. These are worth looking at.

Does anyone else smell a couple of salesman ;D
Is it merely a coincidence that StraightPipes and Dgd6mm live in Florida and this distributor just happens to be based in Florida :o ::)

The info on the IBS shoot in November, will be held at Dublin,Ga. (MGGOA Club).
It will be Nov. 13th. 100/200 yd score. We have a good group of Guys. If I can be of any other assistance let me know..

email me at joeapittmanjr@msn.com

I guess some people can't have an opinion about gear without being called something. What I want to know is, who's paying me. ;D

Certainly not the CHINESE who are manufacturing the parts, nor the JAPANESE firm HAKKO who is assembling the CHINESE made parts, so that leaves the distributor ARK ::) :o ;D ;D

JRS, it appears that your goal here and elsewhere is to stir controversy and to bash products that you know nothing about. You bash MARCH and the Kelbly family to the point you must remove your posts on the matter and now you bash and trash another JAPANESE company, Japan Optics Limited. You are from California, you must bash and trash just about everything associated with our sport and industry. This is to include the shooters in our sport and industry also. SHOOTERS participate here on 6mmBR to discuss product and procedure involved in all areas of this great sport. Do your research, investigate your claims and PROVE your accusations.

That said, who do your work for? You must have your interests or your particular manufacturer that you plug when given the chance? It is obvious that the companies I mention here are not of interest to you. Its sad that you have NOTHING constructive to offer, offering only negative comment towards the character of shooters and companies that look to do nothing less than promote our sport.

I do live in Florida, I do shoot many matches with DgD6mm and just recently have had the pleasure of knowing the shooter and owner of the ARK Group. JP and I have also began to attend matches and will without any doubt continue to make our contributions to the sport. Maybe you would like to bash or comment on the IBS match that JP is obviously promoting here, or perhaps you would like to attend and display your shooting skills?

Feel free to bash and post your negative commentary, our sport and our industry truly need your kind of support. You will undoubtedly attempt to have the last word on this. You enjoy controversy, so try wasting your time as well as the time of others on a more positive note. You will flatter yourself and consider yourself the WINNER on this matter as you will undoubtedly have your last word!!

Enjoy Yourself
