H4350 in 6br

Does H4350 work in 6br with heavy bullets? Seems like it would work, but perhaps not optimal. It works great in 7-08 with heavy bullets. Does anyone have data?
Thanks,
Joe

i have tried it with 115 berger vlds. i didnt pursue it too far because by the time i got decent velocity, i was already compressing the load--but it wasnt heavy compression, and didnt go any further than that

H4350's burning rate is not so slow that it is unsuitable, the problem is density. The powder is not sufficiently dense to get enough in the case. I have worked quite a bit with Reloder 17 in 6BR with Sierra 107 bullets. It is just possible to make it work but requires some load compression. Reloder 17 is significantly denser than H4350.

More recently, I have obtained much better results with 8208 XBR and 107 molys.

Try some varget I've shot the 105 VLDs out to 900 yards outta my buddies 6br and its a tack driver. I believe he's gitting right around 2900 fps with it.

try about 30.9 gr of varget with the 105 and about 30.6 gr of varget with the 107.

you should get about 2850 - 2900 fps.

'jam' at least .015 into lands.

Well I have the varget, I just thought I might do something a little different. I figured I would run out of case capacity before I got usable velocity.
Thanks,
Joe

I always figure there is no sence re-inventing the wheel.....Stick with the "proven" powders and thier close relitives as far as burn rate.
