I havent used H4350 in 7 SAUM with 140-168gn bullets but have used it extensively with 180-183gn bullets where it is my go to powder for F class shooting. With lighter bullets than I am using I would expect H4831sc and H1000 would be too slow for optimum results. With 180-183gn bullets I usually ran around 56.0gns.
In my 7 SAUMs, H4350 gave better ES/SD, less powder fouling and better accuracy than the other slower powders
Title pretty much says it all, looking for opinions or experience in the 7mmSAUM using H4350 with 140-168 grain bullets. Have used mostly H4831SC and tried H1000 with no luck.
Can you share with us what charge the 168’s liked?I’ve had excellent results with H4350 and 168gr Bullets, specifically the 168gr Matrix VLD. I got higher velocities with other powders, but none shot as well as H4350.
Can you share with us what charge the 168’s liked?
Understood, I have just fireformed 100 cases for a SAUM barrel with a 180 Hybrid in front of 54gn of 4350, shot very nicely. However I have 11 boxes of 168VLD’s that I want to get a tune one, don’t want to waste a trip to the range verifying information somebody already has. I find barrels usually shoot well a couple of grains below the practical maximum, which is often a very different number to the book maximum. The OP hasn't been back since his last post Sept, 26, 2020 so it's doubtful he'll return to answer your query. It's sad how some just fade away or forget that they started a thread which other find interesting.
Specific charges for cartridge/bullet combinations can vary significantly due to the most common variables found when reloading. Your best bet is to locate some substantiated data and start a reloading program for your cartridge/bullet.
I use the Nosler images because they are simple to transfer to posts and usually give a decent range of powders and bullets:
