H380 in AR10-DI

Running this question in 2 forums. Ive received a few big boxes of Nosler and Sierra BTHPs, the pipeline is slowly filling. I found a couple of jugs of H380 on the back shelf. My most recent experiece with it has been in MN 91/30s, where the results were near fantastic. I don't see many listing in the manuals for this powder, but where it shows up, the performance is pretty good. Has anyone used it in the AR10 , or does anyone know if the powder is compatible with the DI system?

I couldn't see where hodgdon had any load's with that powder. Goto: www.hodgdonpowders.com

If you have real data that has been published by speer or lyman ,then try some. Start low and work up slowly, look for pressure signs.KEEPING IN MIND THEY USED A SPECIFIC BULLET WITH THE PUBLISHED LOADS.The h380 meters like sand and shouldnt have any bad affect on your gas system.

Shot 380 in m1a back in the early 90 Shooting bullets 168 and up
Timing was good with midrange loads and shot well too. There are better powders.
But in a pinch You might be surprised. It is a little heat sensitive

Re: H380 in AR10-DI-result on my bench

Managed to do some shooting today, and worked up a load for today. Wind NNE5-12mph, about 1/4 value, temperature 30-32*F, and overcast. LC cases, wgt around 181gr, CCI 250 primers. Started w/168 SierraMK worked up from less than 45 gr. Had astonishing vertical at 340yds. as much as 8". worked up to 47+ grains and vertical dropped to < 1". Tried a 3 shot w Nosler 168CC and vertical was around an inch, horizontal 2 1/4". H380 seems a tad slow ,but the POI was superimposed over groups w/Varget and RE15, so I guess the velocity is similar. Ill give it a try w/ 175s in a few days. Just too unpleasant to set up the Chrony and dither around w/ it. Ill do that on the days when I can feel my fingers.
