H1000?

Where did all the H1000 go? Is it the current unobtainable powder like H4350 was not long ago? I was hoping to grab a pound of it to test in a 300 RUM while placing a primer order but it seems that no one has any. I haven't purchased any reloading supplies in a year or so and didn't realize it was hard to find. I would like to at least compare it to Retumbo in my rifle before I look for an 8lb jug of Retumbo.

If your going to shoot heavy bullets (220 gr. & up) I'd be loading RE-33

I'd second the RE 33 or you might give Retumbo a try. You could also look at the IMR7977 powder as well. 7977 is very close to, but not the same as, H1000

Thanks for the suggestions and the offer to sell. I'm in SW PA so Richmond is too far. I have a good load with Retumbo but I'd just like to see if there is something great before I stock up. I usually buy at least 8lbs once I find something I'm going to stick with. I might have to give Reloader 33 a try. Sounds like a lot of people are getting good results with it. Thanks again.

I’m in south central Pa and have two sealed 8 lb jugs for a good price if you decide you need a full jug.

Central KY here with a sealed jug of H1000 LOL, where are you located? Read up a few lines and I see you are in PA.

Thanks again for the offers. I can't drive right now due to health reasons, so I was hoping to order. I was trying to make the most of my HazMat fees by ordering everything I need at once, but no one has everything I need at the moment. I do have a semi local guy that usually has a good selection of powder I can call once I get the ok to drive again. I guess I should call him and put it on hold if he has it. Are there any other powders that would be worth a try besides RL33 and IMR 7977? I am trying to develop an elk hunting load for a factory Remington 700 out to maybe 5 or 600 yards. Was going to start with 200 grain Accubonds and some 200 grain Barnes LRX. Thanks again.

Wow. They must of just got it in. I've been watching their site. Good thing I stopped at the LGS today on my way past. They had a few 1 pounders along with the primers I needed. They usually don't have anything I want as their supply is limited. I picked up one jar of H1000 and 500 primers. That's the limit on the primers. I should be able to do some load testing now and figure out which 8 pound jug I need to buy. In the mean time maybe I'll find some RL33 locally. Thanks guys.

I am definitely going to give RL33 a try as soon as I find a jar of it or put an order in online. I really like the fact that it is going to fill the case better than the other powders and the good reviews you guys are giving it. How is it compared to the others as far as being temperature stable?

Bruno's has it now also. I am assuming the 'big' websites will all be advertising it today or very soon.

The only one Bruno's is missing is Retumbo...

I have had great luck with Retumbo powder in all of the big magnums i have tried it in. I have also had great luck with H1000. Both are great powders and im sure either will serve you right..
