Gunsmith with a Tight neck 300 wsm reamer willing to work on a Savage?

Hey guys,

So, Im in a looking to do a tight neck 300 wsm. Would a .337" neck give me a good clean up?

Does any one here know of a gunsmith that will do a tight neck 300 wsm on a savage target action? I would like to use either a hart or a kreiger and most of them only offer contours with a 1.20 breach. Will this be a problem for a gunsmith to setup? Has anyone here ran a set up similar to this before?

Any help would be apprectiated!

Thanks,

Bryson

My 300 wm is .339 necked and with Norma brass has about .003 clearance total or thou and half each side..I would think that you could take a thou off and be good after clean up but there is more experienced folks on here then me. Bob Green did mine

Bob Green did all of my .300 WSM barrels. I supplied a Ø.337" reamer and turn to .012" thick neck for a loaded round neck Ø.332. That allows .005" diametral clearance. Works pretty well for me in F-Class.
