Gunsmith tools & boxes on ebay

I might go $250. for the box........They can keep the tools.
It's way beyond me but the boxes are going for what to me are ridiculous prices, combos north of 1k. I have an old oak Gerstner with two bottoms and I prefer the metal Kennedy box.
Agree on the tools, dollar apiece at yard sales.

I use one a bit smaller in my gun room that was my Grandfathers when he was a machinist for Esso/Exxon Oil. It's a very cool piece......

Master Gunsmith? There is nothing there, lol. Looks like he maybe mounted scopes or something. I'd take the box, but not for 3K!

I'd say someone has no idea what they have and are being unrealistically optimistic, at best.

I don't know about the rest of the country but here in the mid-atlantic, east coast region, people can't GIVE machinist tools or even machine tools away. The old guy dies, the stuff sits and either goes to the scrap yard or in the dumpster when the house gets cleaned out. Yeah, I'm talking old South Bends, Gerstner boxes, Kennedy boxes, micrometers, and the whole gamut of machinist & tool and die tools.
CNC, AI, global trade and outsourcing have reduced the need for T&D and machinists. In my circle of
ex co-workers, we call ourselves dinosaurs.:(
End of editorial. :)

A side note, I messaged the ebay seller. Told him he might get 1k for the boxes but the rest of the stuff wasn't in demand (junk). He replied he thought he'd get more than his opening bid of $3950. Just SMH.

Maybe $3,800.00 is in a drawer under the parts !

That's an insult. Those rusty antique screwdrivers are worth that. The Savage accutriggers and bolt handles are icing on the cake.:(

Shoot. If those are 'antiques' and 'master gunsmith tools' then I can quit my job tomorrow. I'm sitting on a gold mine in the corner of my shop.

Dang! I probably threw out a quarter million dollars worth of stuff last time I moved! o_O:rolleyes::p
