Gundoktr ???????

In my earlier posting "Mauser Re-barrel????" You said this statement...
"I will raise the BS flag on that comment,. Thousands of 60deg barrels on Mausers with no problems. This turns out to be an old wive's tale with no credible backing."

My question is.....How do you perform this ..Do you recut the action to 60 degree threads over top of the 55 degree thread the action is already threaded for ? ORRR Do you cut 60 degree threads on your new barrels then screw the new threaded (60degree) barrel in to the (55 degree) action? IFFF you do this HOW WELL does this work for you? Gun is done but just currious was reading some old postings that you chimmed in on.IF you don't mind me asking. The end results are the same. I know that the two are very close in shape... Thanks a lot. I enjoy reading what you have to say...Thanks

There is no BS in making male and female threads matching to the specifications. This is the pri
professional aproach. One can question what Whitworth had in mund when he designed it, thats all.
It would be a nonsense to mdify the threads in that action to make them UN 60°.
Use a 55° thead caliper, sharpen a thread tool to suit and make the male threads the engineer's way to match with the female threads.
Even if close, 60° and 55° threads are diffeerent in shape and screwing both together would not make them bearing evenly.
