Gun Trust for Supressor

When you bought your suppressors, did you buy them via a Trust?

I'm thinking of starting to purchase suppressors, so I want to solve the trust vs no trust issue before I get started. With Rule 41F, I'm not 100% positive it's still worth it. Can you help articulate some of the benefits that trusts have for suppressor ownership?

Also, if you got a trust, did you get a "canned" one from Silencershop etc, or did you go through a lawyer? If you went through a lawyer, did you pick one that specializes in gun trusts, or just use your normal lawyer?

I'm on talking to my lawyer, but I'm curious what others have done.

Trust has one main benefit now. If you die the others on your trust can legally own your NFA items on the trust. Other than that, if my daughter or wife want to take an SBR or can to the range without me, then can take the ones on the trust legally. That's pretty much it as far as I can tell.

I have a canned silencer shop trust from pre-Obama..

I did not do the trust. Anybody/everybody on the trust has to pass background( pay $200 each) for gvt stamp is what I was told. Previous trusts you didn't have to do each individual and was a loophole, buuut our gvt fixed that. I have no children, just wifey, and she doesnt care about them, so they will probably get buried with me or sell to my ffl friend. This is how I did it and advise you to check more cuz I could be wrong on the details, but as I remember it.

So everybody/anybody in trust can have then? Anybody in trust has to do background,of this I am sure, and its free you are saying? Not saying you are wrong.
One stamp per item, but anyone on the trust of legal age can possess it if legal in that state.
Your question on transfer when you croak, if you have the NFA items listed in a will with the designated person it or they are going to, it is a simple transfer to them w/o cost< simple may be an exaggeration here, but it's less hassle than applying the first time.

Anyone on the trust has fingerprints, background check etc. For each item (stupid, but what can ya do) In my case, it was like doing three individual form4s but they fell under our trust. One $200 stamp and everyone who co-applied for said item can posses it. Did an SBR post 41 last year. No problem, just takes awhile.

Some info here is not true. I am on 2 trusts and have never laid my hands on any single item in the trusts nor did i pay a tax stamp on any item in the trust. I am on those 2 to dispose of the items in case of a death only and wont touch the items until then. You need to talk to a gun trust lawyer only

If you do a single shot trust from silencer shop. Which each NFA item is it’s own trust. It is filed as a trust with one responsible person and then after it comes back approved you can add anyone you want to the trust to be in possession of the item without you present. They don’t have to do fingerprints or background check.
So you buy three silencers you have three trusts.
Really simple.

Haha, 41F solved a lot.

Whatever you choose, do it now! I dallied for 6 months before finally buying 2 supressors. Now I am 1 month into a 8-12 month wait it seems. They haven't even cashed my money orders yet. I don't care about a trust. My wife knows how to use a acetylene torch or take it to my NFA dealer. If you leave it to someone in a will, they have do the form 4 thing or turn into the ATF. I expect the Dems to ban them outright in 2020 when they win back everything in DC.

Filed 2 individual form 4's back in 6/2017 , was contacted by my FFL : " congrats, come get 'em" mid December of 2017. Individual form 4's at the time were running <6 months. It's well known Trusts take upwards of 11 months.

They won't if you and other like-minded people vote.
